Summary: Responsible for all aspects of managing care and services provided in the Health Care Center including but not limited to the clinical, financial, human resources, and quality assessment/performance improvement activities. The Director of Nursing also serves as a resource for the entire community regarding residents’ cognitive and functional ability as this relates to living in the community. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to: Leadership

• Member of the community “Leadership” team. Works collaboratively with the team to ensure success in meeting and exceeding community goals in operations, human resources, sales, and resident care.

• Responsible for oversight of the Resident Care/Nursing Staff, which includes hiring, training and development, counseling, performance evaluation, functional development, disciplinary action, and terminations. • Oversees training of all staff on Resident Care policies and procedures.

• Where applicable, acts as Program Coordinator for programs as needed.

• Follows and enforces policies and procedures. Incorporates standards/policies into all aspects of resident care training, programs, meetings, and initiatives.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:

• Registered Nurse in good standing

• Must possess and maintain an active and current license to practice in the State of Illinois.

• One to three years of leadership experience in a hospital, long-term care, or other healthcare related facility. • .

• Must have good interpersonal relations with proven communication skill, both verbal and written.

• Previous experience in completing MDS and Care Plans is required.

• Ability to obtain the CDC required Infection Preventionist training recognized by IDPH within 90 days of employment.
