JOB SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates the delivery of care to residents. Develops and implements policies and procedures. Keeps C.O.O. informed of both progress and potential problems.
Oversees all aspects of facility operation. Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, counseling and discharge of staff. Responsible for regulatory compliance. Develops budget and assures adherence to
facility financial performance expectations. Leads facility’s strategic planning efforts.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  1. Provides leadership to Department Heads and consultants to formulate operational strategies and achieve facility objectives within planned budgets and schedules. Provides guidance, direction and
    timely feedback to management team to execute tasks necessary to implement operational objectives. Plans, directs and organizes the operations of the facility on a daily basis to provide a
    high quality of service.
  2. Partners with Medical Director and Medical staff to assure that delivery of medical care to residents meets facility objectives.
  3. Assures staff has an understanding of mission, vision, core values, and core behaviors and that core values and core behaviors are demonstrated at the facility.
    a. Monitors resident care outcomes and communicates results to appropriate individuals.
    Assures systems are in place for providing high quality of care to the residents and / or identifies areas of weakness and develops plans for improvement.
  4. Directs maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of residents and staff.
  5. Selects, trains, orients and assigns department staff (either directly or through subordinates).
    Evaluates performance, initiates, makes recommendations and/or approves personnel actions.
  6. Ensures that a performance improvement process is in place. Implements a program which gathers and analyzes data for trends and to institute actions to resolve problems promptly. Evaluates
    effectiveness of actions.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree; Master of Public Health, Master of Business Administration, or other master level health related degree preferred.

Experience:

Two years supervisory experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred. Knowledge of how all departments / disciplines within long-term care facility operate. Possess leadership skills and strong skills in operational assessment and personnel development; Possess time management, critical thinking, analytical and creative systems thinking skills; Must have good listening skills and work effectively with people of vario ethnic, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
